Smart (Sustainable) Initiatives for Greater KL & Smart Cities
25.02.2013 – Get ready for this coming 25th February (Monday) 2013 as Dr. Daniele Gambero, Chief Executive Officer of REI Group of Companies will be one of the esteemed speakers for ASLI‘s Greater KL And Smart Cities Summit: Gearing up for Sustainable Growth through Smart Initiatives.
The Idea
The term smart city in current context looks into cities that use information, communication technologies, resilient and sustainable construction methods, utilities and real estate development to be intelligent and efficient in use of resources to gain the bottom line of cost and energy savings whilst improving service delivery and quality of lifestyle.
The smart city concept in Malaysia is gaining more prominence and attention when government allocated RM230 billion for development expenditure under the 10th Malaysia Plan (10 MP).
The Goal
The goal of the Smart City in Malaysia is to improve everything from energy use to healthcare, education, traffic and shopping by doing it “smart” with the help of ICT. The path is set, the routes are made and now Malaysia is taking meticulous steps to ensure each and every step towards the development of smart cities in each state is done in accordance to the city’s economic growth and socio-economy maturity.
The Greater KL and Smart City Summit by ASLI will revisit the starting point of this modern revolution and educate executive delegates on what has been transpiring in several key cities in Malaysia. This will be a one stop platform that will encapsulate our government‘s vision, cutting edge issues, strategic solutions and pertinent studies of the smart cities in Malaysia.
