With the long weekend again, Johoreans far and wide are flocking to the newly opened AEON Bandar Dato’ Onn. Measuring over 1.2 million sq ft with around 150 retail outlets and creating around 500 jobs, we decided to head there recently to check out what the buzz is all about. Here’s our top 5 list on what we love about AEON Bandar Dato’ Onn.
While its design and architecture may have changed to suit to current tastes, one thing still remains – AEON is still the one-stop centre for almost everything! Be it groceries, clothes, hardware or dining out at your favourite restaurants or cafés, everything is available under one roof! Just almost one month shy since its opening, we headed down south to check out five things you will love about it.
#1 Baby rooms: Something to cheer about for toddlers and breastfeeding mummies!
This is one of the facilities that I love the most – the feeding and nappy changing room! The room has been thoughtfully designed for mummies who are still breastfeeding . The baby rooms are all equipped with a private room complete with a comfortable sofa to give mummies a relaxing experience and that their babies can directly latch onto them. Not only that. The nappy changing area is conveniently located just a few steps away from the private rooms. In addition, there are also small mattresses so that mummies can easily change diapers just like from the comforts of home.
#2 Great new design: Wide open spaces to give a welcoming feel
The new AEON Bandar Dato’ Onn takes shopping to a whole new level as it features a fresh and exciting new look that would attract just about anyone. The mall’s highlight is its interior which emphasises the wide open spaces that it will evoke the feeling of shopping in a high-end shopping mall. whereas it’s actually just around your neighbourhood. You will definitely enjoy shopping here!
#3 Plenty of amenities & facilities for the whole family to enjoy
You heard that right. The new AEON comes complete with surau, kids’ toilets, wheelchairs, strollers and food courts. With such wide-ranging amenities, it is no wonder the mall is jam packed on the weekend as there is something for everyone. For food enthusiasts, head to the food avenue located on the second floor to indulge in all sorts of delicious delicacies! Pssttt.. I heard the price is not bad too!
Mindful of Muslim customers, AEON has put in place prayer rooms with ample space for you to do your prayers. Best of all, the prayer rooms are within the air-conditioned comfort of the mall. Oh wait, there is another good news for parents out there! AEON offers childrens’ strollers for your child so that you will never worry of losing your children while shopping. Just drop by to the information counter and ask for it. There’s also help on hand for the handicapped as AEON have provided wheelchairs for those in need. Just approach the information counter.
#4 Sales galore: special discounts and prizes for AEON members
Thats’s not all. As part of its opening, AEON is offering all its members discounts and other goodies galore. Some of the exciting activities going on right now include its count and win contest. #5 Meet teddy bears!
The teddy bear is without doubt the star attraction at AEON Bandar Dato’ Onn. Stationed just outside the building, it is hard to give this giant plush toy a miss if you are driving pass the mall. Made up many light bulbs around it, teddy has never looked so bright, shiny and enticing at night. There are also photo opportunities to take photos with various teddy bears within the main atrium of AEON Bandar Dato’ Onn.
